VFX and CGI Services in Dubai

Our Dubai VFX studio delivers seven core services for commercials, branded content, music videos, and film post-production. Compositing and cleanups is the bread and butter โ€” wire and rig removals, plate cleanups, screen replacements, beauty work, multi-layer composites using Nuke 17 and After Effects. 3D animation and CGI covers character work, product visualisation, environmental builds, and photoreal CG inserts. We model, texture, rig, and render in Maya, Blender, and Cinema 4D with Cycles, Redshift, or Mantra depending on the shot. Set extensions and digital environments turn limited-location shoots into world-class settings โ€” full CG backgrounds, matte paintings, photoreal sky replacement, and architectural visualisation.

Particle effects and simulation โ€” Houdini is our workhorse for fluids, smoke, fire, destruction, and crowd simulation. We've shipped UAE National Day particle work, automotive launch sequences, and stadium-scale crowd sims for tier-1 clients. Motion graphics and kinetic typography layer on top of VFX for title sequences, brand stings, social cuts, and broadcast packaging. Matchmove and camera tracking ensures CG elements lock perfectly to live-action plates โ€” solved in 3D Equalizer, PfTrack, or Syntheyes depending on shot complexity. AI-assisted VFX accelerates rotoscoping, sky replacement, generative cleanup, and object removal โ€” humans supervise the artistic decisions, AI handles the hours of paint-out work that traditional pipelines couldn't.

Industries That Hire Our Dubai VFX Studio

Automotive and luxury car brands are the largest VFX client in the region โ€” beauty shots, reveal films, configurator visualisation, and launch event content for marques launching in the GCC market. Real estate developers use CGI for off-plan marketing before construction โ€” full architectural visualisation, neighbourhood flyovers, interior walkthroughs, and amenity renders that sell AED-millions in pre-launch inventory. Tourism boards and government use VFX for destination films โ€” adding CG landmarks, creating impossible camera moves through real locations, and compositing live action with virtual environments.

Telecommunications and tech brands use VFX for product reveals, abstract brand films, and stage-event visuals for GITEX and other major UAE tech events. Sports and events agencies hire us for sponsor reels, athlete motion graphics, broadcast packages, and tournament-opening sequences. Fashion and luxury brands use CGI for product visualisation, lookbook animation, and digital fashion content. Music and entertainment โ€” music videos, concert visuals, artist brand films. We've delivered VFX for tier-1 regional artists, Saudi film commissions, and international productions shooting in the UAE.

VFX Production Cost in Dubai

Pricing for VFX in Dubai depends on shot count, complexity, render time, and turnaround. Cleanup and compositing โ€” wire removals, plate cleanups, simple screen replacements โ€” starts from AED 800 per shot and runs AED 1,500โ€“4,000 for moderate complexity. 3D product and object work (modelling, texturing, lighting, render) starts from AED 5,000 per asset and scales with polygon count, material complexity, and animation. Full CG environments for real-estate, automotive, or hero commercial work start from AED 25,000 per scene and scale to AED 150,000+ for cinematic-quality photoreal environments.

Particle and simulation work (fluids, destruction, crowd sim) starts from AED 8,000 per shot โ€” Houdini simulation time and render farm capacity drive the cost. Full commercial VFX packages โ€” typically 20-60 shots covering multiple setups โ€” run AED 80,000โ€“400,000 depending on hero vs B-roll mix. Hero CG character or creature work starts from AED 250,000 and scales significantly with rigging, animation, and integration complexity. Timeline for typical VFX work: 2-6 weeks for cleanup-grade, 6-12 weeks for hero commercial VFX, 12-24 weeks for film-grade CG. We're happy to scope per shot โ€” most projects start with a single test frame to lock the look before committing to the full pipeline.

Our VFX Pipeline in Dubai

Every project goes through a six-stage pipeline tuned for photoreal integration and on-time delivery. Stage 1 โ€” Brief and reference: client kickoff, reference gathering, technical breakdown of every shot, render budget and timeline agreed upfront. Stage 2 โ€” Look development: test frames, lighting studies, material exploration, camera-matching tests. We lock the look on a single shot before moving to the rest of the work. Stage 3 โ€” Asset creation: modelling, sculpting, texturing, lookdev, rigging. Assets are built to be reusable across shots and re-lighting-friendly.

Stage 4 โ€” Simulation and animation: physics, fluids, destruction, particle work in Houdini; character animation in Maya or Blender. Stage 5 โ€” Compositing and integration: AOV merge, deep compositing, colour integration, lens effects, grain, and final QC in Nuke. We deliver EXR linear workflow at 4K/8K. Stage 6 โ€” Review and delivery: client review cycles, on-set supervision when needed, final master delivery in any broadcast or social format. Render farm: local RTX 4090s in Sharjah for client-confidential work, plus cloud burst capacity for heavy jobs. Pipeline is format-agnostic โ€” we integrate into existing workflows from any client or agency.

CGI vs VFX โ€” What's the Difference and When to Use Each

CGI (Computer-Generated Imagery) is the creation of 3D objects, characters, and environments from scratch โ€” fully digital, no live-action base. VFX (Visual Effects) is the broader umbrella covering everything that alters or enhances footage, including compositing CGI onto live-action plates. In commercial production, you'll hear both terms used interchangeably, but they describe different stages of the same pipeline.

Use pure CGI when there's no live-action base โ€” product-only renders, architectural visualisation, animated logos, motion graphics, fully animated brand films. Use VFX when you're enhancing or altering real footage โ€” cleanups, set extensions, screen replacements, particle effects over a real shoot. Most Dubai commercial work is hybrid: shoot some plates on-set or on-location, composite CGI elements into them, finish in Nuke. We deliver both pure CGI and hybrid VFX โ€” and we're honest about which one your project actually needs.
